ELDEN RING – COLLECTOR’S EDITION PACKAGING, GIFTS, AND AD CREATION

THE PROJECT
Developed by FromSoftware in collaboration with fantasy writer George R.R. Martin and published by Bandai Namco, action-RPG Elden Ring has been hailed as one of the greatest games ever made.

THE CHALLENGE
Bandai Namco produced several collector’s editions (CE) for Elden Ring. TAKEOFF created print and gift elements for the editions, as well as designing targeted ads to boost sales.

TAKEOFF'S SOLUTION

TAKEOFF created the packaging for the collector’s editions. One, a blood-red velvet-looking box featuring a stylised logo of the Erdtree on its sides. Also on the sides were images of Melina in her warrior armour, as well as an image of her winged helm. TAKEOFF also created a black Elden Ring folded box, featuring logo and ‘Great Rune’ design.

‘The Art of Elden Ring’ was a specially-produced 40-page hard-cover artbook featuring some of the most incredible locations, foes and lore found within the world of Elden Ring. The cover of the artbook features a black-and white-image of the First Elden Lord, Godfrey, and his lion guardian Serosh, connected by an ethereal gold effect.

TAKEOFF produced striking ‘Great Rune’ artwork and slipcases (including front and back inlays) for the PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox CE versions of the game, as well as classic editions. Each cover was localised for the 15 global territories the CE was produced for. Pre-order advertising banners for Sony and Xbox, featuring the same artwork, were also created and localised for those 15 territories.

TAKEOFF also created four different covers and packaging for the vinyl records found within each CE, alongside printed certificates of authentication. Once the CEs were complete, TAKEOFF created beauty shots of each CE to give gamers a look at the gifts available inside each version. Beauty shots were also localised for 15 different territories.
