WU-TANG: AN AMERICAN SAGA – CUSTOM XBOX ONE X
THE PROJECT
Premiering on Hulu in 2019, Wu-Tang: An American Saga chronicles the formation of rap phenomenon Wu-Tang Clan, set against the troubled backdrop of ‘90s New York City. The drama is shown from the perspective of founding member Bobby Diggs (The RZA).
THE CHALLENGE
To celebrate the release of Wu-Tang: An American Saga, TAKEOFF America was asked by Xbox (in partnership with Hulu) to design a custom Xbox One X console, based on the show, that would Bring Da Ruckus and promote it to a modern target audience.

TAKEOFF'S SOLUTION
Wu-Tang Clan is more than just a rap group. They’re one of the most influential bands in the hip-hop genre, and are known as much for their visual artistry as well as their hard-hitting lyrics.
TAKEOFF America wanted to represent that history as much as possible in their design (and to make sure their Hollow Bones weren’t thrown into the Gravel Pit).
After an intense brainstorming session, TAKEOFF America settled on a design that would reflect the ‘90s heartbeat of Wu-Tang, but also showcase the group’s outrageous design philosophy.
The end result is a silver resin Xbox One X console, sculpted to resemble a turntable. The console’s highly-detailed finish includes small, individual turntable elements complemented by a stylish, branded Wu-Tang: An American Saga-branded record and controller.
