ALAN WAKE REMASTERED – INFLUENCER KIT

THE PROJECT
Cult horror game Alan Wake, originally released in 2010, was re-released in 2021 with new remastered 4K graphics and two story-led expansion packs. The remaster was handled by original developer Remedy Entertainment and published by Epic Games.

THE CHALLENGE
To celebrate the release of Alan Wake Remastered and to promote the game to new audiences, Epic Games asked us to create a mysterious influencer kit that would tell Alan’s intriguing story.

TAKEOFF'S SOLUTION

Troubled writer Alan Wake is desperately searching for his missing wife, Alice. We decided on the concept ‘Surviving in the dark in Bright Falls’ – the horrific Twin Peaks-style town where Alice seems to have vanished. Influencers could learn more about the wonders (and dangers) of Bright Falls in the bespoke map pamphlet included in our kit. 

Our kit also included the tools that Alan Wake uses to survive Bright Falls. Influencers got their own Alan Wake-branded torch, branded water bottle, stickers, a UV pen, and a cryptic note. Influencers could use the UV pen to solve the note’s secrets – on the map were UV messages, only visible under the pen’s light. All of this was encased in a stylish ‘Trust no one in the dark’ premium presentation box.
