THE PROJECT
Far Cry 5 is a first-person shooter where players explore the fictional Hope County; a region of the U.S. controlled by a doomsday cult. It was developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft.
THE CHALLENGE
Ubisoft Canada commissioned TAKEOFF to produce fun, disruptive social media posts for Far Cry 5 to alert players to the title and encourage sales as part of their wider marketing strategy.

TAKEOFF’s creative social media advertising team came together to create a disruptive Facebook strategy that potential players simply couldn’t help but be amazed by. Our team created specially-formatted videos exclusively for Ubisoft Canada to use that saw game assets literally jump out of Facebook.
Dynamic content included one of the game’s vehicles performing a dangerous jump, leaping out of the screen towards the viewer, while another featured the game’s loveable dog, Boomer, jumping toward the screen and licking it. Disruptive ads featured other game footage and calls-to-action to encourage players to purchase the game.
