Mortal Kombat 11 was the next step in the iconic fighting franchise’s reboot, combining its new time-twisting plot with the series’ staple bloodthirsty combat. Developed by NetherRealm Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.
THE CHALLENGE
In 2019, Warner Bros. asked us to create, build and distribute 20,000 high-quality limited editions of Mortal Kombat 11 to celebrate and thank long-standing fans of the tournament fighter for their loyalty, and draw in new brawlers with something incredibly special and unique.

Vengeful ninja spirit Scorpion has arguably been the face of Mortal Kombat since 1992, and has been playable in nearly every game released since. Early on, our creative team decided to centre the limited edition around a one-of-a-kind bust of the Shirai Ryu legend.
Our team built the bust from rough 3D files to creation, producing 20,000 frightening black-hooded busts, complete with a golden mask. Scorpion was included in the limited edition alongside a logo-embossed black steelbook edition of the game (with exclusive digital bonuses), a golden Mortal Kombat tournament medal, and certificate of authenticity complete with collector number.
The limited edition was housed in a black box, featuring the iconic tournament symbol and an outlined detail of Scorpion preparing for his next fight. All units were produced and distributed by us to Warner Bros. subsidiaries.
Alongside the standard limited edition, we also created a single ‘special edition’ unit, which was available to buy at pre-order and launch. This edition saw our Scorpion bust immortalised by French artisans, who carefully gilded the immortal warrior with gold leaf. See the process on our video below!
