THE GAME
Crown Wars: The Black Prince is a medieval strategy role-playing game. Developed by Artefacts Studio and published by Nacon, players are tasked with rising up against evil roaming forces and uniting the land under their banner.
THE CHALLENGE
Nacon asked us to create pre-launch trailers for Crown Wars: The Black Prince before its May 2024 launch. This ‘Forge Your Weapon’ trailer was to show the game’s combat elements to audiences and to encourage pre-orders.

TAKEOFF'S SOLUTION
Using a combination of gameplay footage, cutscenes and artwork, our video editing specialists created a dark trailer reflecting the violent world players are charged with cleansing in Crown Wars. Medieval-style motion artwork depicting a grisly battle opens the trailer, complemented by a gruff narrator explaining how fights are decided by legendary weapons.
The theme of the trailer focuses on those weapons and the damage they can do in the hands of fierce knights. Gameplay footage shows swords, crossbows, axes and more in tactical battles, edited together with cutscenes and motion imagery, with the narrator urging players to ‘make each blade count’. Our end slate features key information including the platforms Crown Wars can be played on alongside a call to action to pre-order the title.
