THE PROJECT
The NBA Paris Game 2020 was the first time a U.S. regular-season basketball game was held in the French capital. The teams fighting it out were the Charlotte Hornets and the Milwaukee Bucks.
THE CHALLENGE
Part of the reason for hosting the game outside the U.S. was part of a wider strategy by the NBA to spread brand awareness. We were tasked with creating something special to commemorate the match, that would catch the eyes of gamers and basketball fans alike.

With two Xbox One X consoles and controllers as our canvas, our creative specialists designed two custom consoles emblazoned with the logos and colours of the Hornets and Bucks. The Charlotte Hornets custom console featured its iconic forward-facing hornet, with the team’s name across its body, overlaid on the Hornets’ distinctive teal and purple colours
Similarly, Milwaukee’s imposing steely-eyed buck also faces forward, with his torso making the shape of an ‘M’. The Bucks’ logo was centred on the top of the console, again overlaid on the team’s colours – green and cream. Both custom Xbox One X consoles and controllers also featured a smaller NBA logo, too.
