Tony Parker’s Retirement – Custom XBOX One X Consoles
THE PROJECT
2019 saw the retirement of basketball guard Tony Parker. Parker was a San Antonio Spurs legend, winning four championships with the team, and acclaimed as part of one of the greatest trios in basketball history.
THE CHALLENGE
To celebrate the long career of the six-time All-star – widely regarded as one of the game’s greats – TAKEOFF was approached by Take-Two Interactive to mark the occasion with four custom-designed Xbox One X consoles.

TAKEOFF'S SOLUTION
Take-Two Interactive publishes the hugely successful NBA 2K series, letting gamers and sports fans alike take control of their favourite players. With Parker’s iconic ‘9’ jersey retired alongside him, our creative team thought it would be best to create a console skin around his famous number, in a highly respectful way. We created four custom Xbox One X consoles; each one designed with a prominent raised ‘9’ on top of the console.
The ‘9’ was overlaid with a design made to look like black basketball jersey fabric to signify the retirement of Tony and his number, with each console carrying his signature in the corner. The consoles and controllers also carried logos for the San Antonio Spurs and NBA 2K20.
Tony was happy to receive his custom Xbox One X console, and Take-Two were also pleased with the results. Merci, Tony!
