The saga continues as award-winning filmmaker Denis Villeneuve embarks on “Dune: Part Two,” the next chapter of Frank Herbert’s celebrated novel Dune, with an expanded all-star international ensemble cast.
THE CHALLENGE
The film, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, is the highly anticipated follow-up to 2021’s six-time Academy Award-winning “Dune.” Microsoft asked us to create a Dune-themed Xbox controller that could be won by a lucky fan as part of a promotional partnership.

Introducing the first floating controller! This exclusive set was up for grabs in a contest managed by Xbox before the movie release, giving lucky winners a chance to own this piece of art. The controller can float above its base, as if defying gravity itself, making the customisation one of a kind. The base, 3D printed, features a sand texture for added flair.
The set was also showcased during the movie premiere, so that fans can enjoy the experience even more. With this futuristic marketing campaign, Xbox has once again made its mark. It’s always nice to see how the movie and gaming industries can work together.
