THE PROJECT
French multinational pharmaceutical company Sanofi is a global leader in healthcare, and regularly exhibits at health-focused trade shows around the world.
THE CHALLENGE
Exhibiting at BSR 2018 (and 19), Sanofi wanted an interactive piece of tech to provide awareness of the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis (RA).

RA can be a tricky condition to visualise and, most importantly, personalise. Each experience is different. We were able to solve both problems with our ‘magic mirror’. When people stood in front of our interactive mirror, the screen would overlay and track hotspots on their body, and show x-rays of specific body parts to highlight the symptoms of RA and the pain it can cause.
Our creative, tech and activation teams were working to a tight deadline. From the ground up, we constructed a physical build of the mirror and integrated key tech, developing software within it that would track, engage with and inform users. The mirror included 3D camera technology (custom built using an Xbox Kinect sensor) to perfectly track the user, ignore background movement and other footfall.
We installed, tested and activated the mirror, which proved a successful way to engage with and encourage footfall to engage with Sanofi representatives through a mixture of modern technology and experiential marketing techniques.
The magic mirror also made an appearance at BSR 2019. In order to get the most from the capital expense of the dev build, we also made the mirror mobile so it could be used across Sanofi’s wider business in awareness and training environments.
