THE PROJECT

THE CHALLENGE
As part of the launch campaign for Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens, an art gallery-style event was commissioned in Paris, featuring exclusive pieces recreating iconic scenes from the movie in Lego’s signature style.

TAKEOFF'S SOLUTION

Lego imaginings of games are so popular because they’re so quirky, fun and inject so much silliness into the subject matter. That was our primary aim when activating our gallery; we sourced various artists and creatives including DISCRET (Arnaud Brecht) & SHOBRICK (Aurélien Mathieu) to replicate scenes from Episode VII with actual lego pieces.

The results were hilarious; carefully-constructed and reshot scenes from Episode VII with Lego figures doing their own thing, such as two stormtroopers roasting hot dogs over an open flame and Kylo Ren interrogating a member of the Rebellion with a large feather.

We also created 100 fully life-sized Lego Kylo Ren figurines, complete with glowing red lightsaber for the event in Paris, and to help promote the game worldwide. The figurines were created in the US, and delivered to various cities across the world to be showcased and raise awareness of Lego Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
