THE PROJECT
Legendary London-based independent record label Ninja Tune was founded in 1990 and worked with some of the biggest names in music. Ninja Tune also offer a Production Music service with their assets used across commercials, video games, television, films and other media.
THE CHALLENGE
Ninja Tune were looking for ways to further integrate their brand into their production service, and asked us to create an animated logo that would play at the end of artists’ and creators’ video content.

Consistency is key to good branding, with our design team setting out to create an animated logo that wouldn’t just convey Ninja Tune’s recognisable ‘Ninja’ logo and bright colours, but also show the brand’s legacy as one of artistic integrity, built over the decades on supporting independent artists from all backgrounds.
We created a five-second video animation that emphasised these points through a gritty urban abstract background complemented by grainy textures and filters. Parts of the ‘Ninja’ logo appear over that background such as the katana-wielding assassin and their eyes, ending with a yellow spray-paint effect and their ‘Production Music’ logo to emphasise the brand’s services.
