Batman: Arkham Knight – Full Scale Batmobile

THE PROJECT
Batman: Arkham Knight was the final game in the Dark Knight’s Arkham trilogy. Released in 2015, it was developed by Rocksteady Studios and published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

THE CHALLENGE
“Everything’s impossible until somebody does it,” the Caped Crusader said once. But creating a full-sized Batmobile similar to the one in the game to promote Arkham Knight pre-launch? Time to suit up…

TAKEOFF'S SOLUTION

Arkham Knight’s imagining of the Batmobile is similar to the one created by Christopher Nolan for his Dark Knight trilogy – a military-style behemoth with mounted cannons and tyres that dwarf your average Mini Cooper. It’s a truly iconic video game vehicle, and was a real opportunity for us to bring something spectacular to life.

Some men just want to watch the world burn. Not us; we wanted to create a vehicle that would clear the streets of Gotham and announce Batman’s arrival whenever it shifted out of first gear.

Our completed creation found a home at London supercar showroom, Joe Macari, and was twice the size of any of the cars on display.

Complete with ‘SOLD to Bruce Wayne’ sign, press and public alike flocked to see it, generating great exposure for Arkham Knight. The Batmobile also made appearances at gaming conventions across the world during the game’s promotion run.
