LIONSGATE – BORDERLANDS MOVIE, GLOBAL CAMPAIGNS

THE PROJECT
Directed by Eli Roth and distributed by Lionsgate Films, the Borderlands movie – based on the hit video game series – was released in August 2024 and featured a stellar cast.

THE CHALLENGE
The Borderlands movie saw Lionsgate hosting events alongside global premieres before its launch. We worked closely with Lionsgate to produce a diverse range of sets and goodies for press and influencers, to help promote the movie in a number of creative ways.

The Moxxi Bar Global Stunt Toolkit

The Moxxi Bar Global Stunt Toolkit allowed cinemas and other locations worldwide to turn their social space into a lifelike recreation of Pandora with our Moxxi Bar Global Stunt Toolkit. Pop-up bars, large-scale expo activations, experiential opportunities and much more could be chosen and actioned by partners. Our branding toolkit outlined all available resources that could be mixed and matched to create immersive Borderlands-themed events that would resonate with influencers and local communities.

Our Toolkit featured 3D visualisations for spaces, a huge range of design assets, reference images, technical drawings and more to help partners host the best Borderlands events possible.

‘Moxxi Bar’ Copenhagen Influencer Event

Nordisk Film in Copenhagen was the location for a very special Takeover build which hosted more than 40 influencers for a Borderlands-themed experiential event. 

Our bar activation included custom tables, an arch doorway, LED signs, DJ booth, popcorn station, original movie costumes, Borderlands gift goodies and more.

The influencers were treated to an immersive 360-degree cinematic experience – a screen content-capture recreation of Pandora with props – which helped them to create more user-generated content. Part of the event also included a scavenger hunt with The Grand Prize Winner receiving a custom-skinned PlayStation 5.

Custom Borderlands PlayStation 5

Our custom Borderlands PlayStation 5 wasn’t just a prize for a lucky influencer. We produced several of them which could be used for promotional competitions across the world. Drawing inspiration from Borderlands’ in-universe and the vibrant visual style the franchise is known for, our What’s in the Vault? consoles and controllers had a weathered yellow base with colourful graffiti scrawlings.
